Most “broken” eSIMs are one setting away from working. Run this list top to bottom.

1. Turn data roaming ON (the #1 cause)

Travel eSIMs technically roam onto local partner networks, so the line needs Data Roaming enabled. This does not create roaming charges on a prepaid plan.

2. Select the eSIM for mobile data

Installing is not enough — Settings → Cellular/SIMs → set the travel eSIM as the data line.

3. Airplane-mode cycle

10 seconds on, then off. This forces a fresh network registration and fixes most “No Service” states after landing.

4. Confirm you are inside the coverage zone

A Japan eSIM will not connect from the Seoul layover. Activation often starts on first use in the destination.

5. Check the plan is not exhausted or expired

Turnaa customers can see live remaining data under My eSIMs.

6. Pick a network manually

Settings → network selection → turn off automatic and try each listed operator. Some partners register faster than others.

7. Restart the phone

Old advice, real results — especially right after installing the profile.

8. Verify APN settings

Most profiles configure APN automatically. If your provider supplied one and data still fails, enter it manually under the eSIM line settings.

9. Do not delete the profile

Deleting an eSIM usually burns it — most install only once. If nothing above works, contact support before removing anything; with Turnaa, a human replies fast and can reset or replace the profile when possible.

Prevent problems next time

  • Install at home on Wi-Fi; test that the profile appears.
  • Screenshot your QR and codes.
  • Read the plan’s activation rule (on purchase vs first use).
